The Journey of an IT Engineer

In August 2016, I took a leap of faith in my career by entering the UK IT contract market. This move allowed me to leverage my accumulated IT skills in the booming contracting market. My primary focus has been IT infrastructure, with a deep understanding of On-Premise Data Centres, 3rd Line Engineering, Cloud Engineering and various IT projects, including Merger and Acquisition IT initiatives.

Evolving into Cyber Security

After nearly two decades in IT Infrastructure, I made a strategic sideways leap into Cyber Security. Recognising the significant skill shortage in the industry, I immersed myself in Ethical Hacking studies in 2022. In this ever-evolving field, continuous learning is crucial. My goal to be in the cyber security space by 2026, is to align myself with OSINT and, Red Team communities across certain parts of the world.

Embracing Artificial Intelligence

The advent of AI, particularly since ChatGPT’s public launch in 2022, has sparked both excitement and concern in the tech world and beyond. Whilst some fear job displacement, I believe in focusing on AI’s potential to streamline workloads and create new market opportunities. At Sweat-Digital, we’re actively integrating AI tools like ChatGPT, and open-source modules like Llama to explore local AI solutions such as Ollama and PrivateGPT to enhance my skills to optimise my skills, performance and innovation into my skills.
